New Years Eve

After running around the shops for a while, It was an absolute lixury to sit down to a six course meal provided on-site in a friends apartment by not one, but two chefs. It was divine darlings!

Met some people I hadn't see for a while and it was great to catch up with them as well as meeting some great New People.

Lots of fun!

Christmas Eve

Antonella put the christmas lights up today. There are some amazing lights up around the city at peoples homes. Not as spectacular as some of the things I'm used to from home but 10 points for effort at least.

Movers and Shakers

Woke up this morning to another earth Tremor. Really mild this time and as this is my 3rd one in 2 days it's almost passé now.

Went to the gym in the morning. First time in 2 weeks as I have had flu or something but much better now. Went to the Marriott Hotel to attend a Cotillion which it turns out is a Debutantes Ball and coming out to be presented to society. It was very interesting to see another side of the USA that previously has just been something I've seen on TV.

Experienced another side of the USA that night too as I had a few things stolen from the boot of our car. Keys, a lovely Furygan leather jacket, my ipod, a Nooka watch, 2 expensive pairs of trainers and some other personal effects. That will teach me to doubt the cars computer system which tried to alert me that the boot wasn't properly locked and I thought the computer was just playing up. Live and learn and move on I say!

Shake Rattle 'n Roll

Just sat through my first earthquake! It was really strange to feel the whole apartment basically "flex" as the wave movement and sound passed through the ground. It took about 2 seconds to realize what was happenning and the whole thing lasted about 5 seconds with a quick aftershock moments later.

There was no damage here but the emergency services can be heard in the streets - but it could be anything. The news later will reveal the full extent of what just happened.
