Back to back. Belly to belly-dancer
Well I knew it was going to be a tough day but it was more than that. OK, so work was more or less what I thought it would be. Slammed is how it's described here in California. The phone was ringing even when I was already on it and my mobile was turning molten from over-heating with use. Meetings were being conducted one after the other or back -to-back in office speak!
And then factor X was thrown into the mix.
Our car and personal effects were on their way to the depot in town to be prepared for despatch to our apartment. We have been served final notice today to leave to Paramount Apartments on Monday 3rd July. We can't get confirmation from the removals company around what day they will be able to deliver our things. And, we don't want to leave the Paramount to go and stay in our new place with no furniture, household goods etc. Plus, Tuesday the 4th July is Independence day, a national holiday here! A fistful of frantic phone calls later, we got confirmation that we can now check out of the Paramount on Monday morning as our things will definitely be delivered on Monday. Yay!!!
We met up with a couple of friends in the evening and went out
for dinner at Al Masry in Balboa at 42nd. It's an Egyptian restaurant that Sarah and her husband chose. We had a great spread of Egyptian delicacies accompanied by 2 turns by a "must be seen" belly-dancer. She was definitely shaken and stirred but looked even more beguiling for it! So another successfully, enjoyable night out in San Francisco and the reason why this post didn't make it in before midnight.
